I was right on the cliff-edge, ready to fall, when God grabbed and held me. God's my strength, he's also my song, and now he's my salvation. Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved? "The hand of God has turned the tide! The hand of God is raised in victory! The hand of God has turned the tide!" I didn't die. I lived! And now I'm telling the world what God did. God tested me, he pushed me hard, but he didn't hand me over to Death. Swing wide the city gates—the righteous gates! I'll walk right through and thank God! This Temple Gate belongs to God, so the victors can enter and praise. Thank you for responding to me; you've truly become my salvation! The stone the masons discarded as flawed is now the capstone! This is God's work. We rub our eyes—we can hardly believe it! This is the very day God acted— let's celebrate and be festive! pixel8design has added a photo to the pool:My favorite version is actually the NASB translation of Psalm 25:9 :: "You visit the earth and cause it to overflow; You greatly enrich it; The stream of God is full of water; You prepare their grain, for thus You prepare the earth".Water is amazing. It's in everything and you can't live without it. I mean, it's so important you can survive longer on just water than you can on just "bread alone".Water cleanses. It purifies. Rehydrates, energizes. But what happens when it's contaminated by the very beings it was created to sustain?I find it saddening that we had this almost two-month oil spill polluting the ocean... however what actually IS terrible is the quietness about it. Where is GreenPeace? Where are the eco-people? Why the hush? Seriously. If we didn't use all the manufacturing energy we do, would we really even NEED this much fuel? And now I'm thinking why they couldn't drill in Alaska or something. There was thr "risk" of harming wildlife there. But really. What about the wildlife in the ocean? What about the water that'll eventually be used to irrigate our lands? What about the rivers that feed into the inland lakes? What about us? Was it really worth it? I guess why I'm on this rant is because there was a relatively significant oil spill a few hours away in Kalamazoo. What IS this trend, anyhow and why is it kept so quiet? Why can't we just live our lives, simply... avoid the more invasive things like drilling for oil in the ocean only to lose a few thousand (er, billion) gallons. Oh and I'm wondering, too... why am I still paying $2.79 per gallon when BP could afford to leak out all those billions of gallons, and STILL be in business? I don't get it.But all in all... let's protect the environment we have. Buy local, support farmers, use the microwave a little less, eat a few more home-cooked meals, you know the spiel†. Really if we all adhered to the good old Biblical principles this nation was founded on, I think we'd be off to a running start in the right direction. Your thoughts are appreciated. :)

Yesterday I decided I HAD to stop and photograph it. I only had my small camera with me so I didn't do this as much justice as I wanted. The War Rages On

The battle cry of defeat is sounded
Yet the flesh refuses to be grounded
He fights back hard, as hard as ever
Refusing to surrender to his inevitable blunder

Weakened from an overwhelming need to feed
The soldier must submit to the Spirit’s lead
The battle cannot be lost, there’s so much at stake
Failing yet again, will be too hard to take

A seasoned veteran, the flesh has been here before
He knows what is needed, to win it, once more
Armed with empty promises of instant satisfaction
That can only deliver at the cost of one’s freedom

The battle cry of defeat is sounded
This time for the soldier that is wounded
Reaching for the Word, the only arsenal that can empower
Providing what he needs in this, his desperate hour
