Another good poem. Love it. Dark, but uplifting message. Yes, many of us are sleeping while the enemy encamp around us. Some of us don’t care, few of us are awake and working. We would be much more stronger if we stay in the Word and live the Word each day. Arise!!

Beautiful poem, instantly reminds me of the scripture…
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” ~ 1 Peter 5:8
We should always remember that the devil is never on vacation, he is always watching and waiting for us to get complacent in our Christian walk.

Love this one too Kaleb!! I agree with JBarry that though it is ‘dark’ there is a clear message to each reader to be very careful that we don’t let our guard down, because as soon as we do, we allow the enemy to sneak in and reek havoc in our lives. I recently wrote a spoke word piece related to this topic. Check it out!

![godserv has added a photo to the pool: " 'Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine. " 'I bathed [a] you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you. I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments. I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck, and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen. And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD. ~ Ezekiel 16:8-14 (New International Version) godserv has added a photo to the pool: " 'Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness. The Haunting
In shadowy places he lies in waiting
Waiting for the right time to pounce
Pouncing when you’re most weakened
Weakened by life’s anchors that wear you out
Out-smarted and overpowered, you resist being seized
Seized by a creature that is ghastly yet tempting
Tempting you, entrapping you, controlling you
Controlling you, while uncontrollably laughing
Laughing in victory because he took you down
Down to the depths of hell, where only he belongs

“Soldiers in Christ, Awake!
Your enemy gains ground
When you are sleeping”
