Is There Clutter in Your Closet?

Cluttered Closet

As I was doing an inventory one day of the many things I had; it was to my amazement and it made me very sad. I looked at all the things I had collected for years; and before I realized, came the memories along with some tears. I had a bunch of junk; things I had picked up through my travels; many things were good as I sat back and marveled. I then realized that those memories were bitter-sweet to my soul; because all that shared them with me; didn’t stay to continue to grow. In fact they were no longer around; they were nowhere to be found.

I found bags with shoes; no longer could I use. Along with that I carried along the calluses that they brought; I got so used to that; I didn’t realize they still hurt. I had purses with many things in them; some things were sharp; causing pain in my heart. Some things were heavy; keeping me from being ready; dragging these things along; apparently weighed me down; and kept me from moving on.

Realizing over the years; that all this clutter had brought many of my tears; but this aching of my heart; would not prevent me from having a new start. So I cleaned out that old junk; and I threw it in the garbage; because it really stunk! I took a broom and mop; and cleaned that dirt out and sopped it up! Now with my closet clean and having room to fill; I have learned my lesson and learned it well. I ask my Savior; to save me from myself this time around; and trust him that I will no longer ever be bound. I will let him fill my closet and organize it too; knowing my new life will show the results of my Savior’s woos; and my new walk in my brand new shoes!

Have you taken an inventory of the clutter in your closet?

I once heard Joyce Meyers say “Garbage In Garbage Out” I think we all need to do some soul cleaning in general keeping in mind that what we harbor inside of us, always comes out – in what we think, in what we say, in how we behave.
