Hope for Haiti
This past week more than 100,000 lives were permanently silenced while countless cries were sounded by the many that were left behind from the devastating tragedy that occurred in Haiti. It is a tragedy that is immeasurable and incomprehensible but in the midst of what may appear to be hopeless, it is still hopeful. It is hopeful because God is with us – He is our refuge and He is our strength. He brings people together in times of crisis to help those desperately in need. His unshakeable love, His unbreakable peace, hope and joy are poured out through the rallying of many people around the world – doing whatever they can to help. I am so encouraged by the compassion in my local community – people with nothing giving something, just to help out any way they can.
We at W2W Soul are praying for the Haitian Community and would like to extend our deepest sympathy to those that have lost family members and friends as a result of this disaster. We pray that you will take refuge in God’s strength, comfort and peace as you start rebuilding your lives.
Excerpts from Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
An ever-present help in trouble
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth give way
And the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
Though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging
He comforts and says – “Be still, and know that I am God”
The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress
