Pat - I am so sorry to hear about he challenges and losses that you have faced. I am encouraged by your strength and faith. You're right - staying focused on the eternal can be challenging in general when we have to live in these earthly bodies and face the tragedies and trials of life. I am comforted that God will never give us more than we can bear and that He uses the bad things that happen in our lives to bring about good and to accomplish His will in us and through us.

So true, Kaleb. My Mom died when I was nine. That radically changed my perspective. Shortly after my daughter was diagnosed with a highly malignant brain tumor much like the one that killed my mother, my Dad died. The temporariness of life is very real. Even knowing that, staying focussed on the eternal in the now can be a challenge
Blessings,
Love this article. I agree that death really puts life into perspective. We tend to sweat the small stuff when in the long run it really is of no consequence. I lost a close family member suddenly last year and I think about her life and how she used to worry about so many things. The devil's way is to steal our time and lead us to think we have time for God later or tomorrow, but death has a way of reminding us to check ourselves. Are we ready to meet Him today?
