Excuses, Excuses
Today I lost the battle because my armor failed me
I failed the test because the test failed me
I am at war with my body but it is my body that antagonizes me
I keep going around the same mountain because this mountain pursues me
I failed the test again but….
To be true…..it wasn’t the test that failed me
I failed me…..
By succumbing to sin and granting it power over me
I failed me….
By believing Satan’s lies and allowing him to entrap me
I failed me….
By not trusting God beyond what I could see
I failed me….
By silencing my spirit and applauding my flesh to victory
I failed me….
By choosing the path I thought, was easy
Today I lost the battle because I chose to fight it alone
Victory could have been mine, had I just taken it to His throne

A very lovely poem – I like the fact that even though the victory comes when we make some choices, the glory of winning the battle lay completely in God.
That sounds like the exact battle I am fighting.
Are the photos ones you’ve done, or are they from Inspiks?
The photos are actually by Inspiks. So many battles are going on – hang in there and don’t be discouraged. I’m glad the poem inspired you.
Thanks ´cause I found a mirror in your words. I´ve failed him…again
@ Elcodigodebarras Don’t get down on yourself. There’s nothing you can do that is beyond His forgiveness.
Thanks for posting this Kaleb!! It’s very inspiring since we’re all struggling with something, whatever that may be. I’m encouraged to take all my problems to HIM because I can’t do it on my own. By the way, I also write and was wondering if there are/will be opportunities for readers to submit. I’m so inspired by everything you’ve posted thus far!! Thanks!!
YES YES YES – Please submit! Glad you like the site. Looking forward to getting some good stuff from you
Thx for posting this poem… it’s awesome to read through in times as such we’re all battling something & I so greatly needed the reminder to lean on HIM & He will help me through. We need to remember our battle is not with the flesh, but with the enemy.
Hugs & Prayers, HL
This is an AWESOME poem, one I’m sure most people can identify with.
