Calm in the Storm

Heavy is my burden in the eyes of the world
Yet lightened is this load because of my Lord
Strengthened by Him, sustained I am
A storm is brewing, yet I remain calm

The pressures of life are so overwhelming
My heart is heavy, my mind is racing
But refuge I take in the hands of my Lord
He gives me His peace in the midst of a storm

Though negative forces try to enslave
He keeps me strong; He makes me brave
He sets my soul free from captivity
And quiets my life so riddled with strife

I’m thankful, I’m blessed
Can never be stressed
When hardships usher in the storm
I am calm, for He keeps me strong

    Love this poem, awesome! In my experience He has not failed me – when I turn to Him during a stressful day, I always get a sense of peace.

    Awesome poem, always loved it, the words are such a source of strength and a reminder to keep on hanging on to Jesus, especially in times like these :)
